The Finder's Tales: Marco by Tiffany Jo Howell is an enchanting young adult story. Imagine an eleven year old boy making a living from his fishing boat in the Caribbean. On a happy, sun-filled day he is out on his boat when suddenly...he isn't. He's been kidnapped, or captured, or something but he finds himself waking up to a strange man (at least that's what he believes). The 'man' introduces himself to the boy Marco and informs the lad that he is on his way to his new home on a faraway planet to be a pet for an alien being.

What follows is pure genius. World building at its best. While geared toward young adults, I found the story captivating. Note: I am far removed from being a young adult. As we follow young Marco's journey to his new home in a galaxy far, far away, we can draw the correlations between the human pet, Marco, and our own pets here on Earth.

Highly recommended for all ages.  My rating: 5 stars
